Our story begins with Rich Moore, the founder and current president, who established Moore Construction in 1996 in Modesto. There, he built a strong reputation throughout California’s Central Valley by delivering luxury residential projects, including high-end remodels, additions, and custom homes defined by attention to detail and lasting quality. This dedication to excellence was recognized on a national level when the company earned a prestigious chrysalis silver award at the Remodeling Show Indianapolis.
In 2005, Rich relocated with his family to Dallas and founded Blue Spruce Builders, bringing with him decades of experience and a deeply rooted standard of craftsmanship. As the company grew, Blue Spruce Builders expanded beyond its residential foundation into commercial construction, applying the same meticulous approach, clear communication, and commitment to quality that defined its residential work.

DeMuro Award
Blue Spruce Builders was honored to be presented a 2020 Restore Oregon DeMuro Award for their transformative restoration of the historic Madsen Grain Elevator (c. 1900) in Carlton, Oregon. The project preserved a derelict agricultural icon, turning it into a sustainable and welcoming wine and hospitality destination, highlighting sustainable reuse and preserving Oregon’s farming heritage.
People’s Choice Award
Blue Spruce Builders was honored to be presented with the 2025 People’s Choice Award for the construction of the Oregon Association of Water Utilities Training Center. The Salem Contractors Exchange (SCE) People’s Choice Award is a prestigious honor presented at the Annual Awards Banquet, recognizing a standout construction project chosen for excellence, impact, or popularity within the local construction community. It highlights top-tier workmanship and collaboration among members in the Salem area.
Chrysalis Award
Our founder was honored to be presented with the prestigious Silver Chrysalis Award for the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. The Chrysalis Awards, established in 1993, recognize the best residential and commercial remodeling projects in the United States based on design excellence, creative space usage, and craftsmanship. Judged by industry experts, the awards honor projects across dozens of categories, from kitchens and baths to whole-house remodels, celebrating professional excellence.
